UK Muslim family says it was barred from flight to L.A. to visit Disneyland
A
British Muslim family was prevented by U.S. security officials from
boarding a plane from London to Los Angeles, where they were planning to
visit Disneyland, British media reported Wednesday.
The 11 family
members — two adults and nine children — were authorized to travel to
the U.S. ahead of their flight to California on Dec. 15, but were not
allowed to get on the plane at London's Gatwick airport, The Guardian reported. It identified one family member as Mohammad Tariq Mahmood.
Mahmood,
a Pakistani-born gym owner, told Metro UK that he was approached by a
British border control agent just moments before boarding. The agent
said he had gotten a call from U.S. officials in Washington barring
Mahmood from boarding the flight.
"He wouldn't tell me anything
more," Mahmood told Metro UK. "I felt humiliated and my kids were
tearful they were so upset. I'd never experienced anything like that."
U.S.
Customs and Border Protection issued a statement following an inquiry
into Mahmood's case. While the agency didn't address his family's
situation directly, it said would-be visitors to the U.S. can be
prevented from entering the country based on more than 60 grounds of
inadmissibility, including health-related issues, criminal backgrounds,
immigration violations or security concerns.
"The religion, faith,
or spiritual beliefs of an international traveler are not determining
factors about his/her admissibility into the U.S.," the CBP statement
read.
The incident comes a few weeks after Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump
called for Muslims to be banned temporarily from entering the U.S., a
comment prompted by the San Bernardino, Calif., shootings by two
radicalized Muslims that left 14 people dead.#
One can not help but feel that given an explanation will help clear the air. It id humane to explain reason for action. It will also guard against misconception such as relating issues to relation which always have sentiments attached to them.meanwhile British prime minister has promised to investigate this matter according to USA Today.

Muhammad Ali aims message at Donald Trump: Terrorism perverts 'what Islam really is'
Muhammad Ali aimed a powerful and impassioned message at Republican presidential candidateDonald Trump on Wednesday, saying that the recent global terrorism crisis has “perverted people’s views on what Islam really is.”
Ali became a Muslim and changed his name fromCassius Clay during the height of his career as one of the greatest boxers in history. His message came in a statement following a week in which Trump cast doubt on President Barack Obama ’s assertion that several American “sporting heroes” practiced Islam.
“I am a Muslim, and there is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people in Paris, San Bernardino, or anywhere else in the world,” Ali said. “True Muslims know the ruthless violence of so-called Islamic Jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.
“We, as Muslims, have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda. They have alienated many from learning about Islam. True Muslims know or should know that it goes against our religion to try and force Islam on anybody.”
One of the main principles of Trump’s campaign has been taking a hard line on immigration. In the wake of the San Bernardino mass shooting that killed 14 people last week, Trump called for the establishment of a national Muslim database and forrestrictions on Muslims wishing to travel to the United States.
Ali’s political views did not endear him to the establishment in the 1960s, and his affiliation with the Nation of Islam ignited controversy during his reign as world heavyweight champion.
“Speaking as someone who has never been accused of political correctness,” Ali said, “I believe that our political leaders should use their position to bring understanding about the religion of Islam and clarify that these misguided murderers have perverted people’s views on what Islam really is.”

Khloé Kardashian Caught In A Thanksgiving Lie?
See What Goodies The Reality Star Tried To Pass Off As Her Own Work!
We wonder what she was thinking?
It's always fun to boast about your accomplishments in the kitchen — you know, when they're actually your own.
Khloé Kardashian, on the other hand, appears to be caught in a bit of a lie as she took to Instagram on Thanksgiving to brag about the time she spent in the kitchen baking.
On the festive food-filled holiday, the reality star posted:
The problem with the pic is that TMZ reports that the pies that are in the post are actually from the L.A. bakery Sweet Lady Jane!
Just look at the evidence as the following pies are from the Sweet Lady Jane website:
To be fair to Khloé, her IG post did only brag about the monkey bread but it sure seems like she's taking credit for all the food in the picture — especially with the muffins or cornbread still in the muffin tins!
Hopefully this will teach the 31-year-old to bake for herself — or at least alter the pies enough that they don't look EXACTLY the same as the famous bakery. LO
